    - Expert Software released this via CDROM
    - The Expert Software CD-ROM version of Devil's Island Pinball installs Version 1.00,
      and there is a Version 1.1 update (devils_110.exe, 376289 bytes) which can be applied to
      both the CD-ROM version and Wildfire's download version. After applying the patch,
      the main menu still shows Version 1.0, but the game screen shows Version 1.1 when you
      begin to play a the table. Supported Resolutions are 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024
      and 1600x1200 for 4MB or higher display cards. Cards with less memory have more limited
      options. Table view has three options: Auto, Scrolling and Single screen.
    - You CAN use GOG's BOS launcher to get it running with no graphics issues
      - Place launcher.exe + bosloader.dll inside the Devil's Island folder
      - Rename devils.exe to bos.exe
      - Run launcher.exe and two windows will open, an empty launcher window and
        devil's island menu

- A tiny loader hooks the game's DirectDraw calls and redirects them to newer
  and more compatible methods, like Direct3D
- The loader also allows for playing the game in a resizable desktop window,
  provides a nice bilinear filtering, and disables all the odd display resolution
  changes that would usually mess up all the desktop icons
- Installation Notes
  - You'll need at least DirectX 7+ installed
  - Install Balls of Steel (either shareware or registered version), and patch it
    with the latest 1.3 patch
  - Unzip the package into the Balls of Steel program folder
    (usually "C:\Program Files\Pinball Wizards\Balls of Steel")
  - Launch bosloader.exe
  - You can access the rendering options using the dropdown menu.
  - You can then switch between a Direct3D rendering (default)
    and a DirectDraw based one.
  - Use the DirectDraw renderer on slower machines or computers with a
    graphic card that does not support 3D rendering.
  - Use the [F] key or Alt+Enter to switch the game to fullscreen

- I'm using a Logitech Rumblepad with FP and it works just fine but I hate
  that the nudging is controlled with the hud switch. I would love to have it at
  the 5- and 6- Switches close to the flipper switches. I can't figure out how to
  reassign the nudging to those keys.
- I've used the Logitech Profiler to map the buttons to "Z" and "/" but
  for some strange reason it works only occacionally (Never had problems
  with these settings in Visual Pinball)
- Just in case someone stumbles over this short thread - here's the solution:
  1. Obviously with a logitech controler we're using the logitech profiler to
  assign button 5 to 'z' and button 6 to '/'
  2. Since FP has buttons 5 & 6 assign to 'look at backbox' and 'insert coin 1'
  we have to assign 'none' to those functions. Otherwise FP will still see
  buttons 5 & 6 and most of the times it will not do what you want (see my
  previous message)
  Works like a charm now
